I’m Jenna, the founder of Blooming Dogwood Designs. I fell in love with the slow, intentional art of crochet years ago after my mom and sister introduced me to it. For me, slowing down, finding rhythm, and creating tangible comfort for myself and loved ones is what crocheting is all about.
There's something therapeutic about the repetition and familiar rhythm of each row. It expands my patience, asking me to crochet blankets one single stitch at a time. I love that my hands stay busy while I reflect on the day, listen to an audiobook, or sit fully present in conversation.
I created Blooming Dogwood Designs after years of being the one searching for clear instructions, hoping I was doing it right and that my finished blanket would actually look like the photo. It wasn’t always easy to find! That’s why I design crochet blanket patterns that are structured, detailed, and reliable. Each pattern includes step-by-step photos and thorough written instructions, so you can confidently recreate exactly what you see, or use the pattern as a blueprint to make it your own. I also share different color and size options on social media to inspire creativity and show what’s possible.
I’ve found so much fulfillment in designing patterns that help other crocheters succeed, even more than sharing finished pieces. I love seeing you try new patterns and fall in love with the process, whether you’re just starting out or have been crocheting for years.
